CCC Division 2

It is the dawn of a new season and IMCC unveiled 4 newly recruited young players out of many in our development program in Ibadan.

We lost the toss and were put in to field, our veteran bowling legend Olumide Akintokun started off with his lovely inswing and quickly pushed the Pioneer batters to the backfoot. His pair Idris Ogungbade started off at the  other end but the partnership didn’t yield as expected.

Olumide got the first breakthrough via a Leg before Wicket (LBW) and in the next over got his first wicket. Clement was caught by Talabi at wide long on. Clement had motored on quickly, taking a particular liken to Idris’ left arm off spin and lost his wicket after posting 21 runs.

The introduction of our new duo  brought a flurry of wicket and the Ibadan lads kept getting wicket after wicket to wrap up the innings of Pioneers for a paltry 61 runs.

We started our innings briskly and the loss of our wicket keeper/batter Balale at the early stage of the inning brought about the fall of successive wickets. There comes a glimpse of hope as our Ibadan newbies came in to blast the Pioneer bowlers to all parts of the ground. Their partnership took us to the brink of success when the top scorer Komolafe Kayode was caught out from Olisa Egwuatu’s ball few runs to victory and Idris hit the game to a finish, giving us the deserved victory.

The victory was well deserved and the players are also in high spirit.  Aside the victory, we also took some lessons home with us that will aide more winning as we have promised our fans and sponsors all over the world.

We won eventually by 2 wickets
